Sonia Heyworth was born in London and trained at Willesden School of Art for four years before attending the Royal College of Art. A supremely flexible artist with a passion for trying and combining different materials, she not only works in watercolour and mixed media, but specializes in papermaking, screen and monoprint. Her works also include wood engravings which can be seen at the Royal Academy and stencils which feature at Syon Park.
In 2003 she was selected as one of the winners of the ‘Inspired by’ competition held by the Victoria and Albert Museum.
Her work has been exhibited at the Royal Watercolour Society in Bankside, at the ‘One Person’ exhibition at the Post Nostalgia Gallery in Teddington, the Orleans House Gallery, Bedford Park in Chiswick from 1999 to 2005, Gloucestershire Cathedral and galleries in Painswick and other Cotswold venues.
She has also worked as a freelance designer whilst working part time teaching Art, Design and crafts.
