Angela Cork’s aim is to change the relationship we have with silver objects, exploring how objects known to us can exist in new and alternative environments.
Born in Chertsey, Angela grew up in the south of England before moving to Glasgow School of Art to study for a silversmithing degree. This was followed by a residency at the Bishopsland Workshops, Oxfordshire and an MA at the Royal College of Art, graduating in 2002.
Her work encourages people to develop a relationship with both the silver objects and their environments, resulting in such work as her recent floating vase series.
She has won numerous awards and completed many commissions. Her work is kept in private and public collections throughout the country, including the Birmingham Museum and City Art Gallery and the Goldsmiths Company collection.
