Arts and crafts are increasingly encouraged as an occupation for the homeless, adding positive, therapeutic and motivational elements to more basic support.
Crisis Skylight allows homeless people to take part in free practical and creative workshops giving members the opportunity to build on existing skills or develop new ones, discover and grow talents and abilities, learn from one another and meet new people.

The exhibition is being mounted in support of the London and Slough Run, a local charitable organisation which has been helping Slough homeless for over 20 years.
Formed in 1984 by Phyllis Wallbank, the charity is dedicated to feeding and supporting the homeless and destitute living on the streets and now involves over 80 volunteers from Burnham, Gerrards Cross and Slough.

Each week, regardless of the weather, vehicles travel from various villages in East Berkshire and South Buckinghamshire to regular places around London and Slough to distribute food, drink, clothing and sleeping bags to over 300 desperately needy men and women.
In addition they offer friendship - talking and listening to people, many of whom are very lonely.
The charity is entirely voluntary and dependant on the generosity of all communities involved.
