Michael studied at the Chelsea School of Art and the Slade School. He has exhibited widely in Britain, Europe and America and is considered one of Britain’s most distinguished painters. As well as his closely observed cityscapes and figurative pieces he is noted for his extensive mural work which has brought him awards such as Agnes Reeve Memorial Prize, Primaluce International Mural Festival Prize-Lodi, Italy and Green and Stone Oil Painting Prize.

His clients included Trust House Forte, Claridges and the royal family of Saudi Arabia and he has exhibited at many galleries including the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.
