Doug came to Britain from New Zealand in 2000 and began to experiment with the art of photography. From the moment he entered and won his first competition there was no turning back - he was hooked.
Within nine months he was awarded a Royal Distinction with honours in photography and his work was retained by the Royal Photographic Society for their collection.
Now settled in Windsor, the opportunities to photograph this glorious location and it's ever changing light has proved to be idyllic to him. He was elected chairman of the Windsor Photographic Society in 2006 which has lead to commissions to shoot the inaugural St George's Chapel calendar for Windsor Castle as well as numerous events involving the Royal Family such as the Garter Day Ceremony.
Doug shoots in digital and enjoys toning and printing all his work to ensure a personal touch remains in every image captured.
